Holler Atchaboi!

I've been working like a bitch the last few days (months?) and I'm falling far behind on catching up with my peeps. So, if you are one of these peeps then bear with me. I'll call up your stank butt sometime soon to catch up.

On a seperate note, I'm throwing up a new Featured Flava. It's Shelter by Ray LaMontagne. I watched him perform on Austin City Limits on PBS the other day, then I noticed he's opening for Guster on their upcoming summer tour (which I will no doubt be attending at the venue shown) so I figured I'd give it a shot. Rock it out yo.

The White Man's Lies

Every advertisement for online dating services has a picture of a gorgeous women on it as if to imply that all the woman found through this service look like this girl here.

That my friend is one of the white man's lies. Women like the one shown here don't have trouble finding dates. If they wanted to be accurate they would have a picture of someone like this.

Peer Pressure Is A Mother Fucker

I've finally given in. I have a MySpace page. I held off for a long time because I thought it was just too "public." Whatever, I'm in it now.

In other news, the Cubs have lost 14 of their last 16 games. Regardless, I'm still going to keep my goal of attending 15 games this year.

Check out the Cubs home game count I put on my sidebar.

Pimp and Circumcise

I went to Greenville, NC last week to see my two good buddies graduate from Graduate school. I was only able to fly out for one night, but it was worth it since we had such a good time. The one night I was there was crunktastic, and many many pictures were taken.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Chicago is just a few select people of my own personal paradise.

Worst Name Ever

I met someone today who's name is Latrina.

I wish I too was named after a place to take a shit. For example, my baby's daddy, Jon Redman.

Stick It To The Gringos!

Today, May 1st Latino immigrants around the nation will not be working, dining out, shopping, or contributing in any way to the economy. This is in protest of the new immigration law that Congress is currently discussing. They're planning a rally here in Chicago that is expected to attract over 300,000 people.

Regardless of the politics involved, I just want to say that some of the Latino workers I have worked with in my 7 year food service career are quite literally, amazing. They took a big risk leaving everything to come to this country for a better life, and now they're here working harder than anyone else. I would quit my job tomorrow if I didn't have them. Hypothetically, if we woke up tomorrow and all the Latino immigrants were gone, this country would fall apart. All the fruits and veggies would be left unpicked in the fields, nobody would cook or clean for you, nothing would be painted, and rich people would have to wipe their own mouths.

Love This Man

Greg Maddux just turned 40 years old and this season is so far the best start of his entire Hall of Fame career. In his first 5 starts he is 5-0 and has the lowest ERA in the MLB.

He is now just one win shy of tying Nolan Ryan and Don Sutton for 13th place on the all-time career wins list. All the while Maddux is as humble as he always is. Such as when he says, "Starting pitchers sometimes get too much credit when the team wins... Guys put up runs constantly when I'm out there. Runs make you look good as a pitcher." Not only is he a great player, but also a class act.

Someday I'll get to tell my grandchildren about how I got to see this guy pitch several times in Wrigley Field.

In related news, 4 of the 6 best winning records in the MLB are all in the Cubs division. Thankfully, the Cubs are one of them, but the other teams in the NLCS need to start losing so we can make a playoff appearance.

What T-Shirt Am I Going to Where?

Don't deny it, you imagine yourself performing music in front of a sellout crowd too. When I think about it, I think playing Made Up My Mind by David Gray would be very fun to do. That and any Stevie Ray Vaughan style guitar solo. Also, just once, and only once, would I like to be a member of Rammstein and perform Du Hast in front of 20,000...southern bapist youth.

Made Up My Mind is also the latest Featured Flava so check it out.
